Simon Mann
Simon is a freelance broadcaster and journalist, as well as an experienced communications coach.
He has worked for BBC Sport for nearly thirty years and is an established cricket commentator on Test Match Special. (So if he looks familiar, that’s probably why.)
He’s used the techniques he learnt as a broadcaster to develop a parallel career in communications coaching. He has extensive experience teaching courses in written and verbal communication, mainly for UK government departments and agencies.
In the training room, Simon emphasises the importance of writing clearly, simply and briefly. His mantra is ‘Be the reader’s friend.’
Simon has a BA in modern history from the University of Birmingham and a postgraduate diploma in broadcast journalism.

'Simon was excellent. He really made tailored the course to us, which I think is relatively difficult! He was also engaging and patient. I wasn't that sold going into the session, but I actually learnt a lot.'
