Chief Executive

Robert Ashton

Robert Ashton set up Emphasis in 1998, after a career in magazine and journal editing. He moved into publishing after working in medical research and local government. So he is equally at home working on highly technical documents and on those concerning public policy. During his editing days, Rob worked on reports about everything from pharmaceuticals to furniture making; and he spent four years at the Consumers' Association, where he was managing editor of Health Which?.

Throughout, he used tried-and-tested editing techniques to help experts get their message across. He originally formed Emphasis to share those trade secrets with the business community.
